Montepulciano

 

A deep ruby colored wine that tends towards having moderately low acidity making it milder (i.e. softer) than bitter edged tannins. The result is a smooth, drinkable wine that tends to improve for three or four years after vintage.

The most famous Montepulciano wine comes from the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC). This wine has a deep, rich color, strong aromatics and a full-bodied, robust structure.

This wine offers a

deep-color, has ripe tannins that do not overpower. These earthy characteristics make it an ideal drinkable partner to game meats, beef, and spicy and peppery foods.
